Cork Cooks was started by a few housemates living in County Cork, we are amateurs who love to cook – and eat – good wholesome food.
Originally from Northern Ireland we moved to County Cork for our university placement year. We were determined to not eat ‘like students’ for the year and used our evenings to cook for each other, trying new recipes whenever we could.
We picked up tips and tricks from our favourite YouTube and TV chefs, but nothing quite compares to getting stuck into a recipe in the kitchen and learning on your feet.
We all enjoy cooking and although it can be daunting for a beginner, we have streamlined our recipes and tried to include all the information a budding cook – or a student fending for themselves for the first time – could need, from equipment lists to the shops with the best and often cheapest ingredients.
Luckily we aren’t exactly picky eaters so we continue to try our hand at every type of cuisine imaginable. Hopefully you will find something you like! 🙂
